A source-led byline
The desk byline is used when a story combines reporting, source review, data maintenance, and original service writing. Individual contributors can be credited as the publication grows, with their background and interests made visible on their author page.
Archive research is credited as archive research. It is never presented as a current first-person account from a historical operator.
What the desk checks
For seasonal and farm guidance, we check university extension, USDA, NRCS, EPA, and food-safety sources. For markets and producer notes, we look for a current listing, date, place, and a direct verification path. For recipes, we keep the method original and the safety boundary explicit.
